Laundry Series Cinque Terre, Italy 2010 Photograph with encaustic 16 x 24" The sun shines on the laundry hanging from balconies all over Italy. I was looking to capture the patterns of random order created by the windows, shutters and wash hanging out to dry. It seems to me that someone carefully plans out the visual order of the laundry into well balanced shapes of color and pattern. I often wonder if anyone looks up to their balcony to appreciate their colorful creations.
