Artist Statement
Objects have the power of carrying the memories across space, time, culture and generations. I interpret the images of objects in the languages of paints and brushes to create an emotional and sensual communication. As a young adult I came to the United States to study and was exposed to the western art in a museum context. This had a dearest impact on my aesthetic sensibility and led to change the subject of study. My father’s illness and death in Korea, what I could access of him was the memory of him and his happy moments with American candies during the Korean War.
